He was doing everything "healthy." He felt worse every year.
187 → 166 lbs · Body fat 29% → 22% · 0 → 15 push-ups
If this is you
Thirties or forties, desk job, young kids at home. You do the “disciplined” things like skipping breakfast, and you still hurt most days.
Mohsen is a software developer who works from home with two young kids. His first words to his coach were that he felt in pain all day: shoulders, back, knees. He couldn’t do a push-up and squatting hurt. He had been intermittent fasting for two years because it felt disciplined. He didn’t come in to lose weight; he came in to get his body working again. Six months later: 21 lb down, body fat from 29% to 22%, and 15 push-ups.
"He was dialed. He listened, he took feedback really well, and he kept going through the hard weeks." — Julian

22 inches gone
She knew what to do. She needed a push to start.
17 lbs down · 22 inches off · Body fat mid 30s% → 32%
If this is you
Early 30s, a desk job that eats the day. Not out of shape exactly, but you eat out most nights and you haven’t started.
Caroline, an engineer, signed up with her fiancé a year out from their wedding. She had just run a half marathon on a dare, so effort wasn’t the problem; a plan was. Ten months of tandem training: 17 lb down, 22 inches off, body fat from the mid 30s to 32%.
"They make my day every day. Even if they show up sore, we all pivot together." — Gabby

She wasn't short on motivation. Nobody had shown her how.
145 → 128 lbs · 18 inches lost · Steps steady at 8,000+
If this is you
Not a gym person, not a pep-talk person. You want the numbers, the plan, and someone to tell you what to do.
No training background, never tracked food, steps at 10,000 one day and 1,000 the next. Her first 3D scan didn’t discourage her; in her words it was “a clear starting point.” Six months later: 145 to 128 lb, 18 inches lost, steps steady at 8,000+.
"She could have fooled me. She moved really well and she took direction super well." — Freddy

"Why didn't I do this sooner?"
180 → 129 lbs · 27.6 inches off her torso · RDL 0 → 100 lbs
If this is you
In your 50s, on your feet all day, and something hurts most of the time. You’ve never lifted a weight. You’d go to a gym if a friend went with you.
Marian is a teacher. When she came in she had plantar fasciitis and a bad hip, had never done any resistance training, and her exercise was a 20-minute walk a couple of times a week. She signed up with a friend as a tandem pair because neither of them was going to show up alone. Eighteen months later she is down 51 lb, deadlifts 100 lb, and her only regret is the start date.
"They lift heavy and they're like, how was your weekend? They're fun." — Laura

She didn't need more willpower. She needed half a chocolate bar.
About 20 lbs down · 29 inches lost on the scan · Deadlift 205 lbs at 5'0"
If this is you
Office job, under 3,000 steps most days. You track food well for days, then one blowout undoes the week.
Linda is about five feet tall, likes baking, and by her own account did not enjoy moving. Her weight had crept to around 170 lb and her old plan kept pushing strength when she wanted fat loss. Gabby changed the approach and the all-or-nothing pattern. Nine months: about 20 lb down, 29 inches lost on the scan, and a 205 lb deadlift.
"My strength is back. I didn't lose it." — Linda

He'd never trained in his life. Now he trains on his own.
225 → 187 lbs · Body fat 33% → 30% · Chronic Achilles pain gone
If this is you
Retired, late 60s. Something’s been replaced or repaired, and you’ve been told to “take it easy” so often you believe it.
John ran a delivery business for decades and still wakes at 4 a.m. out of habit. He sat down with Joe, said he had a new hip, wanted to lose weight, and had never done any of this. Food was chips and processed snacks. Six months: 225 to 187 lb, body fat 33% to 30%, and the Achilles that had bothered him for years is gone.
"It's been a pleasure. If there's anybody I know, I'd definitely recommend you." — John

He didn't need more effort. He needed a plan.
202 → 177 lbs · 14.4 inches off his torso · 3.5 inches off his waist
If this is you
Twenties, working a trade. You’ve been in a gym before and know the basics, but the weight hasn’t moved.
Kyle was finishing a math degree; he’s an aircraft mechanic now. He had spent time in gyms but nobody had shown him what a weight loss program actually looks like: what to track, how to run a deficit without starving. Three months of semi-private: 202 to 177 lb, 14.4 inches off his torso, 3.5 off his waist.
"You just tell him how it is. He goes, 'Yeah, okay, cool,' and then does it." — Freddy

"Pretty good, but not good enough": an occupational therapist's 21-pound turnaround
178 → 157 lbs (−21 lbs) · Torso down 14.1 inches · 8 months
If this is you
Already active, already eating reasonably well, and still stuck at the same weight for months.
Mary is an occupational therapist and a hiker. Macro tracking asked for more precision than she could sustain on top of a full-time job, so Joe swapped it for a simple food list. Eight months: 178 to 157 lb, 14.1 inches off her torso, and Panorama Ridge without being the one holding her friends back.

Individual results vary. Your results depend on program adherence, effort, and individual factors.
The numbers for building muscle, performance and recomposition. Not everyone here is chasing the scale.
Yes. And we can prove it, not just say it. Among clients we've body-scanned, 63 saw their waist shrink while their weight stayed flat or even went up — average waist change -0.67 inches, while their scale weight actually rose slightly (+2.1 lbs on average). That's body recomposition: losing fat, gaining muscle, same or higher number on the scale, smaller waist.
Narrowed to just clients training to build muscle or what we call "Eat Like an Athlete" specifically: 17 of the 40 we've scanned show this exact pattern — waist down (-0.7 in average) while weight went up (+1.2 lbs average). Muscle, not fat, filling in that gained weight.
Clients training to build muscle (not lose fat) gain lean mass on average — +1.4 lbs for "Eat Like an Athlete" clients specifically, while their body fat trended down slightly too (-0.8 points). That's a real, measured recomp, not a guess. This population is smaller than our fat-loss numbers (32 clients scanned twice so far) and still growing — we'd rather tell you that plainly than dress up a small sample as a bigger claim.
Our smallest sample, and we're saying so upfront: 7 clients training specifically to bulk have gained an average of 6.8 lbs of lean mass. Real number, real clients — but 7 people isn't enough to call a guarantee yet. As more bulking clients get scanned, this is the number we expect to firm up and publish with more confidence.
Nothing to pay upfront. Starts with a no-sweat tour and a scan.
